Thomas “Tom” Barton, 65 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. He was born on January 3, 1954 in Springfield, IL the son of Floyd and Lorene (Reed) Barton. He married Melinda Ryan on October 7, 1978 in Springfield. Tom retired as a mechanic from Springfield Mass Transit.
He is survived by his Wife: Melinda Barton of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Ryan Barton of Taylorville, IL; Tyler Barton of Springfield, IL; Kyle (Kari) Barton of Kincaid, IL; Bryce Barton of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Ocean Barton, Kohl Barton, LaRaylyn Barton; Brother: Ron Barton of Springfield, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents.  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Deacon Ray Roth officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Walnut Hill Cemetery in rural Sharpsburg, IL.
