Thomas Cutright Jr., 91 formerly of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 6:10 p.m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born on June 23, 1927 in Keysport, IL the son of Thomas V. and Lena (Rueff) Cutright. He married Shirley Dowell on January 26, 1946 in Shelbyville. They were married 58 years and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2004. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during World War II. He worked as a farm laborer for Louis Briggs of Stonington, IL for 17 years. He then worked and retired from GSI in Assumption, IL. After retiring he went to work at Taylorville Walmart as a greeter for 10 years.

He is survived by his two daughters: Donna (Andy) Curtner of Rochester, IL and Carol (Dave) Cook of Morton, IL. Four Grandchildren: Jason (Jennifer) Cook of Summersville, MO; Douglas (Tara) Curtner of Springfield, IL; Jared (Jennifer) Cook of East Peoria, IL; and Marla (Lawrence) Hurst of Rochester, IL. 13 grandchildren: Brett, Courtney, Dylan, Evan, Pierce, and Peyton Cook, Alanna, Hannah, Kayden and Caleb Curtner; Hailey, Charlie and Joseph Hurst and 3 Great-Grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters:  Ina Faye Taylor, Ruth Moore, Florence Burris, two half-brothers, and two half-sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 4:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Don Bettis officiating. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Tower Hill Cemetery in Tower Hill, IL with military graveside honors.
