Martha R. Miller

Martha R. Miller, 65 of Taylorville, IL passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 6:16 pm at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on September 19, 1953 in Pana IL. The daughter of the late James V. Palmer & Betty (Puckett) Temmen of Pana, IL. She married Donald Miller of Fillmore, IL on April 2, 1970. Martha retired from GSI in Assumption, IL. She was the owner of Used But Not Abused thrift store in Pana IL. Many years before this time, she worked for Salvation Army in Decatur and Springfield, as well as the Herald & Review and the SJR and prior at Taylorville Dress Factory. She volunteered at St Mary’s school as the playground supervisor and cooked for and was a member of VFW and Eagles in Pana. Martha was a member of the Pana High School class of 1974. Throughout her lifetime Martha enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, metal detecting, gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.               

Surviving are her mother: Betty Temmen of Pana; husband Don Miller of Taylorville; children: Betty (Shane) Osterholt of Morrisonville; Becky (Clint) Adcock of Taylorville; Kenny (Ginger) Miller of Taylorville; Chuck (Sandra) Miller of Morrisonville & Sandy Miller of Taylorville. Siblings: Phil (Gloria) Palmer of Pana, Wanda (Charles) Dumire of Mt Pulaski, Pam Morrison of Pana, Robin (Brad) Moomey of Owaneco & Judy (Darryl) Rothermich of St. Charles, MO. Grandchildren: Erica Schwab; Cassie Osterholt; Hailey & Caleb Adcock; Koady, Kolten, Kenny Jr & Kortinee Miller; Dax, Blaine, Claire & Bryant Stormer; Montgomery Miller, Kadeyn Kelmel, Rhianna Miller & Bo Guy; Great grandchildren; Shayna Schwab & Easton Burris. She was preceded in death by her father, James V. Palmer and brothers: James (Jim) Palmer, Herb Palmer and Vince Temmen.

Visitation will be held at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville on Friday March 8, 2019 from 11-1pm with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville Il. A gathering for friends and family will be at the Moose Lodge in Taylorville following burial.

Memorials in Martha’s honor may be donated to Martha R. Miller Memorial fund at CNB to assist in funeral expenses and remainder to fund St. Mary’s school playground.

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
