Leo James King

Baby Leo James King, too sweet for this world, was born with his angel wings at 10:58 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. He weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces, was 20 inches long, and had a full head of dark curly hair. He spent just over 37 weeks listening to his mother’s heartbeat, his father’s singing, and his sister’s giggles before he was called home too soon.

Leo will be forever remembered by his parents, Staci and Dakota King, his big sister: Farah King, all of Stonington; Paternal Grandparents: Paul and Darlene King of Stonington; Maternal Grandmother: Tammy (partner Mark Coffey) Scott, Maternal Grandfather: Robert Scott, all of Taylorville; Maternal Great Grandfather, Robert Scott Sr.; Paternal Great Grandmother: Sheila Dudra; Aunts and Uncles: Paul King, Lacey & Randy Jones, Zach King, Bobby Scott, and April & Dee Owens; Eight Cousins: Harper Scott, Allyson Scott, Jaclyn Scott, Michael Scott, Madison King, Laila King, Annalise King, and Lily Jones; as well as several extended family members. Leo was preceded in death by his Maternal Great Grandmother: Donna Franklin, Maternal Great Grandmother: Wanita Durbin, Paternal Great Grandparents: Quinten & Mary King.

A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of cut flowers, the family welcomes any plants or flowers seeds they may gather for a garden they’re planting in Leo’s memory.  McClure Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Leo, or condolences to the family, may be left online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com.
