LeRoy B. Shelton, 75 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 4:45 p.m. at his home in Taylorville, IL. He was born on June 11, 1944 in Hillsboro, IL the son of William and Anita (Striegal) Shelton. He married Glenda Jean Ryan on August 11, 1971 in Taylorville, IL and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2003. LeRoy Worked as a coal miner at Peabody Mine #10 and he was a member of the United Mine workers of America. He was a former member of the Taylorville American Legion and the Eagles Club.

He is survived by his Children: Robert (Toni) Germann of Leesville, LA; Jeffrey Germann of Springfield, MO; Scott (Tanja) Flemming of Morrisonville, IL; Eldon “Butch” Shelton of Milan, MI; Tracie Cook and companion Michael Antonacci of Taylorville, IL; Jacqueline “Nikki: Brasche and Fiancé Aaron Richards of Taylorville, IL; Connie Anderson of Beardstown, IL; Twenty one Grandchildren; Seventeen Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son Matthew Aaron Shelton; Brothers Charlie, Louie, Denny, and Billy Shelton, Bobby, Vernon and Herbert Jacobs and Sisters: Kathleen “Katie” Elam, Shirley Adams, Charlotte, Helen and Hazel Shelton, Darlene Christian, Violet Jacobs and Dottie O’Neil. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home with Pastor Steve Switzer officiating. Burial will be in Ponting Cemetery in Stonington with military graveside honors.
