Mary Smergl Bertucci, 93 formerly of Taylorville, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Lisle, Illinois.  She was born on March 19, 1926 in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of John and Mary Smergl.  She married Joseph N. Bertucci on September 17, 1960 in Oak Park, Illinois and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2013.  Mary retired from Standard Oil Company. She moved to Florida with Joe and lived there for 25 years before moving back to Taylorville.  Mary was an avid golfer. She loved to fish, crochet, knit, bake and shop. A talented and loving soul who will be missed by all. Mary is survived by her daughter: Bonita B. Cockey of Tampa, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sister: Vlasta S. Egan of Spring Grove; sister-in-law: Peggy B. Mitchell of Taylorville; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Joseph W. Bertucci; and sister: Johanna S. Antos. 

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
