Geraldine “Geri” M. Myers, 98 of Springfield, formerly of Morrisonville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 7:15 a.m. at her home in Springfield, IL. She was born on December 30, 1920 in Christian County, the daughter of Henry and Lola Hertel. She married Nyle Myers in 1941 and he died in 1971. Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Morrisonville High School and Illinois Business College. She retired from SIU School of Medicine as a Medical Transcriptionist in 1994. She was a member of Calvary Church and Full Gospel Men’s Fellowship International and AARP.  Geri volunteered at Memorial Medical Centerand Hope Thrift Center.

She is survived by her Sons: Michael (Sandra) Myers of Taylorville, Mark (Brenda) Myers of Raymond, IL; Rev. Max (Nina) Myers of Georgia, Matthew (Vicki) Myers of Morrisonville, IL; Brother: Roger (Kris) Hertel of Georgia; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister: Pegge Vest.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church 1730 West Jefferson Street Springfield. Funeral Service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church 1730 West Jefferson Street Springfield, with Rev. Jim Austin and Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery in Morrisonville, IL.
