Roy Adkins, 94 of Ohlman passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Nokomis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Nokomis, IL. He was born on January 19, 1925 in Audaban TWP in Montgomery County, IL the son of Bryan and Iva (McCain) Adkins. He married Genevieve Phegley on June 4, 1950 in Lakewood, IL and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2017. Roy worked as a farmer and he was a member of The Rose City Twirlers and many square dance clubs.

He is survived by his Sons: Gary Phegley of Taylorville, IL; Terry Adkins and companion Judy Voss of Ohlman, IL; Dan (Anna) Adkins of Nokomis, IL; Daughter: Patty (John) Vedder of Nokomis, IL; Grandchildren: John Vedder, Pixie (Jamie) Vieweg, Bobby (Melissa) Vedder, Leslie (Larry) Farris, Brent Adkins, Amanda (Mike) Thompson, William Adkins; Great-Grandchildren: Nicole and Chase Vieweg; Kadyn, Gage and Nora Vedder; Bailey and Cody Ferris; Great-Great-Granddaughter: Aria DeWitt; Brothers: George Adkins, John Adkins, James Adkins, Kenneth Adkins; Sisters: Ruby Moore, Betty Smith and Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Sisters: Viola Duncan, Edith Moomey, Lillie Markham, Rosa Scoughton, Brothers: Charles Adkins, Howard Adkins, Glen Adkins

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. The Funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis with Pastor Bert Eickhoff officiating. Burial will be in Ohlman Cemetery in rural Ohlman.
