Margaret Sharon (Watson) Lyons, 73 of Taylorville formerly of Stonington passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 4:20 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on January 14, 1946 in Stonington, IL the daughter of Joseph Howard and Beatrice (Lewis) Watson. Sharon as she was known to family as friends, was raised in Stonington, IL. After attending Stonington High School (class of ’64) she married Minor Dishon. She then moved to Taylorville in 1978. They later divorced. She retired and was quite skilled as a certified nurses assistant and home health care aide. She enjoyed books, crochet, trivia and bingo and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stonington. Sharons love was unconditional for her family, with that special kind of love for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her Daughters: Terri (Christian) Swain of Taylorville, IL, Kathy Dishon of Lynden, WA, Deborah Miller of Taylorville, IL, and Mary Dishon of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Kylie Steverson (Tyler) of Bolivar, MO, Amanda Stickel of Taylorville, IL, Alexis Stickel of Taylorville, IL, and Tiffany Swain of Taylorville, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Aaliyah Steverson of Boliver, MO, Jaylynn Stickel of Edinburg, IL, Jordan Steverson of Boliver, MO, Sophia Tucker of Taylorville, IL, and Cylas Worker of Taylorville, IL; Brother: Joseph Thomas (Barbara) Watson of Wheaton, IL; Sisters: Patricia Ann Watson Beard of Farmville, VA, Mary Lou McChristy of Stonington, IL, Janet Bell of Stonington, IL, Brenda (Gary) Mills of Taylorville, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousin. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law: Oma Andy Miller, brother: David Lee Watson; nephew: David Mills; brothers-in-law: Floyd Beard, Damon “Zeke” Bell and Bill McChristy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sutton Memorial Home with inurnment in Old Stonington Cemetery.
