Anna Mae "Mickey" Burke Denning

Anna Mae “Mickey” Burke Denning, 88, of Taylorville, passed away at 11:22 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
 
Mickey was born March 26, 1932, in Taylorville.  She was a 1950 graduate of Taylorville High School.  She married Joseph “Pat” Denning on March 28, 1948, at the First Baptist Church in Taylorville, where they were long-time members. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1988.
 
Mickey enjoyed the simple things in life, from cooking, gardening and doing puzzles to cheering on her favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals.  She gave back to her community by working for many years at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her family was her pride and joy. Heaven gained a true angel with Mickey’s passing. 
 
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Everett Burke, and siblings.
 
Mickey is survived by her children, Joseph (wife, Rhonda) Denning of Taylorville, and Susan  (husband, Andy) Lovekamp of Taylorville; grandchildren, Michael (wife, Trudy) Denning of Taylorville, Jeffrey Black of St. Louis, MO, Christopher (wife, Theresa) Black of Peoria, and Jacqueline (husband, Brian) Coss of Taylorville; and great grandchildren, Sam, Hayden, Joanne, Kathleen, Ben, Beau, and Shane.
 
Cremation will be accorded and no public ceremonies will be held.
 
Memorials in memory of Anna may be made to: Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (lssi.org) c/o Rolling Meadows Senior Living Center, 1125 E. 1500 North Rd, Taylorville, IL 62568, for residents as they battle COVID-19.
