Ronald E. Cisco

Ronald E. Cisco, 82 of Taylorville, passed away at 11:30p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2020 in his home.  He was born on November 30, 1937 in Springfield, the son of Jesse H. and Rosa (Russell) Cisco.  Ron married Janet L. McKee on June 20, 1959 in Springfield and was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church.  Ron worked as a railroader for over 30 years for the Illinois Central and C & IM where he worked as a switchman, yard master, and trainmaster throughout his career.  He loved sports of all kinds, but especially the Cardinals and Illini.  He enjoyed bowling at North Lanes and working on stained glass projects.  Ron was a quiet man who was liked by all that knew him.


He is survived by his wife: Janet Cisco of Taylorville; children: Ronald L. Cisco of Taylorville, Mark Cisco (Peggi) of Stonington, and Dawn Brown (Tommy) of Taylorville; grandchildren: Kirsten Sowers (Sean), Katie Brown (Nick), Noah Cisco (Alannah), Emmilia Cisco (fiancé Austin Vanderhule), Joshua Cisco (Stephanie), Kayleigh Cisco (John Whalen), Nicole Cisco, Brittny Rueff (William McWard), Megan Lopez (Nestor), and Courtney Rueff (Billy Esswein); 23 great grandchildren; siblings: Russell Cisco (Sylvia) of Mt. Olive, Geraldine Brown of Virden, Dale Cisco of Springfield, Anna Langley (Everett) of Springfield, Jacqueline Stade (Victor) of Hutchison, Kansas, and William Cisco of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren, a great grandchild, twin brother: Donald Cisco and wife Judy; brother-in-law: Virgil Brown; and sister-in-law: Beverly Cisco.


A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating.  A public memorial service will be held at a later date.  

 

Memorials in Ron’s honor may be left to the American Diabetes Association.
