Ruby Faye Kalka, 92 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 5:40 a.m. at her home in Taylorville, IL. She was born on August 8, 1927 in Edinburg, IL the daughter of William Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Condor) Phillips. She married Alex Kalka on September 20, 1945 in Pana, IL and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2006. Ruby worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Consolidated and Illinois Bell. She was a member of the VFW Post #4495 Auxillary.

She is survived by her Sons: Alex “Chip” Kalka Jr. of Taylorville, IL; Stephen Eric (Leanna) Kalka of Mt. Pulaski, IL; Grandchildren: Rachel Stroud and Edwin Kriegel; Great-Grandchildren: Elizabeth Collins and Joshua Stroud; Great-Great Granddaughter: Elliot Geriets; Sister: Maybelle Christian of Pana, IL; Sister-in-Law: Martha Phillips of Kincaid, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Laverne, Eugene, John and Bernard Phillips, Leo and Jim Thomas; Sister: Pearl Moomey.

  
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Inurnment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
