Clarence Owen Miles, 95 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Life’s Journey Senior Living Center in Taylorville, IL. He was born on July 29, 1924 in Audubon, TWP in rural Montgomery County, IL the son of Clarence and Clara (Kroenlein) Miles. He married Helen Smothers on September 3, 1950 in Taylorville, IL. Clarence was a WWII Veteran serving under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. On February 27, 1945 he was wounded and received the Purple Heart, ETO Ribbon, 2 Oak Leaves, Infantry Combat Badge and the Good Conduct Ribbon. Clarence retired from the Adolph Coors Brewing Company in Golden, CO.

He is survived by his wife: Helen Miles of Taylorville, son: Jim of Denver, CO, two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Jeff, four sisters and one brother.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosemond Grove Cemetery in Rosamond, IL with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating.
