John William Johnson, 70, of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his residence.
John was born on March 12, 1950 in Hillsboro, the son of Charles “Chuck” and Lucia (Marley) Johnson.  He graduated from Nokomis High School, and went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Air Force.  John worked for many years at Sangamon Paper Company.  He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis.  John was an avid fisherman, and he especially enjoyed fishing the pond at the family farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Jim, Robert “Babes”, and Roger “Onze” Johnson.
John is survived by his son, Jimmy (wife, Christine) Johnson of Seminole, FL; grandson, Benjamin; brother, Charles “Chaz” Johnson of Holiday, FL; the mother of his son, Sally Dickerson of Trilla; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Kettelkamp Cemetery in Nokomis.
