Donna Jean Peterson, 84 of Mattoon, IL formerly of Edinburg, IL passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. She was born on July 2, 1936 in Sullivan, IL the daughter of Carl and Bernadine (Kidwell) Weakley. She married John A. Peterson on September 2, 1988 and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2015. Donna worked as Regional Coordinator for the Heart Association, a Floral Designer and she was a member of Taylorville Christian Church. John and Donna enjoyed taking trios and cruises.
She is survived by her sister Joyce and brother in law Michael Edmonds, sons Jeffrey (Sherry) Beierman, Michael (Maureen) Beierman, Marshall Peterson and Reidd (Patti) Peterson. Several grandchildren and special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernadine and Carl Weakley, brother and sister in law: Lynn and Sally Weakley, son Robert Beiermann and husband John Peterson.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Camfield Cemetery in Sullivan, IL with Pastor James Jones Officiating.
