James “Keith” Morgan, 68, of Taylorville, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at his residence.
Keith was born February 5, 1952 in Vandalia, the son of Charles Herbert and Betty Mae (Lockart) Morgan.  He married Diane Crowder on December 5, 1971 in Taylorville.

Keith proudly served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  After his honorable discharge, he worked for Ziegler Coal Company until his retirement.  He then worked for Capital Redi-Mix for an additional 20 years.  Keith was a hard worker, and he took pride in everything he did. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and any other outdoor activities that involved being around his family.  Keith was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini football and basketball fan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his infant brother, Charles Morgan, Jr.

Keith is survived by his wife, Diane Morgan of Taylorville; sons, Jim (wife, Shannon) Morgan of Taylorville, and Kevin (wife, Caryn) Morgan of West Lafayette, IN; daughter, Bobbie (husband, Bob) Fenno of Coulterville; grandchildren, A.J., Mercedez, Hunter, Ryan, Greg, and Drew; siblings, Sharon Scott, Charlie Morgan, Ivan Morgan, Mike Morgan, and Lenna Morgan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation:  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville.  In keeping with CDC guidelines, only 50 guests at a time will be allowed to visit in the funeral home, and the wearing of masks is suggested.

Private family ceremonies will be held with Chaplain Abraham Mogerman officiating.
