Roy Curtis Ginger, 60 of Taylorville, passed away at 4:13a.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital E.R. He was born on February 13, 1960 in Taylorville, the son of Roy and Cora Sue (Hughes) Ginger.  He married Elizabeth Durbin on December 13, 1980 in Taylorville.  Curt previously worked as a mechanic, bartender, and in construction.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing any chance he had.  He loved birds, including parrots, macaws, and cockatoos, and raised many as pets throughout his life.  More than anything he loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and cherished all the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Ginger of Taylorville; father: Roy Ginger of Pana; children: Greg Matthews (companion, Casie), Jeremy Ginger (companion, Amanda), Sarah Clayton (companion, Elizabeth), Roy Charles Ginger, Justin Ginger (companion, Mary) and Mikiyah Ginger, all of Taylorville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and one expected soon; siblings: Terry Ginger (Keri) of Morrisonville, Carrie Milligan (Mark) of Taylorville, Sheila Russell (Mike) of Highland, Danny Ginger (Susie) of Pana, David Ginger of Pana, and Gary Ginger of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother; brother: Robert Ginger; niece: Brenda Sylvester; and mother and father-in-law: Sadie and Charles Barnes.
