Vicki Steele-Charles, 50 of Riverton passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 6:43 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on June 18, 1970 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Duane “Biggen” and Lenora (Montgomery) Steele. She married Ted Charles on July 28, 2007 in Springfield, IL. Vicki worked as a Registered Nurse at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She loved traveling to and hiking in the Smoky Mountains. She loved music, several football teams and all of her animals.
She is survived by her Husband: Ted Charles of Riverton, IL; Sons: Aaron Steele of Riverton, IL; Eric Humes of Riverton, IL; Lucas Charles of Riverton, IL; Daughter: Amanda Steele of Riverton, IL; Grandchildren: Milo Ashcraft of Springfield, IL; Liam Ashcraft of Springfield, IL; Elenora Humes of Taylorville, IL; Sisters: Gerri (Keith) Conrath of Taylorville, IL; Cathy Lee and Companion Mike Miller of Auburn, IL; Krystal Steele and Fiancé Steve Lopez of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Brother-in-Law: Wes Streight of Raymond, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Lavon Streight, grandparents and three uncles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Cemetery in Palmer in Taylorville with Pastor James Jones officiating. Inurnment will be in Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL.
