Adolphe Jouglet

Adolphe Eugene Jouglet, 88 of Stonington, passed away at 4:54am on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  He was born on February 13, 1932 in Stonington, the son of Voltaire and Cymone (Besson) Jouglet.  He graduated from Stonington High School in 1950 prior to serving in the U.S. Navy.  Adolphe retired from Caterpillar after a 35-year career.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Fighting Illini.  He loved to travel with his brother, together they visited many locations including Brazil and Puerto Rico.  He loved spending time outdoors especially while fishing.  Along with other family members, he enjoyed attending the Indy 500 for many years.  
He is survived by his sister: Judy Johnson, husband Moe, of Taylorville and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Eugene Jouglet, Olga Hemingway, and Norma Kastelic.  
The funeral for Adolphe will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Dennis Hudson officiating.  Burial will take place at Old Stonington Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10 until 11am on Thursday at the funeral home.  CDC health guidelines will be followed including social distancing and the use of masks.
