Sarah L. Cook, 86 of Edinburg passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 7:35 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on August 30, 1934 in Edinburg, IL the daughter of Finley and Ida Francis (Humphrey) Truax. She worked as a housekeeper at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
She is survived by her Half Sisters: Shirley (David) Gurski, Joyce (Dennis) Barnett of Springfield, IL; Rosemary Libbens, Alice Bell all of Petersburg, IL; Jeanie (Carl) Brodie of Peoria, IL; Mary Courtney of Canton, IL; Brothers: Darrell (Jan) Humphrey of Alabama, Larry (Jane) Humphrey of Oklahoma and David (Brenda) Humphrey of Petersburg; Sister-in-Law: Carole Humphrey of Petersburg, IL; Uncles: Daniel (Lois) Cook of Carlinville, IL; Donald (Anna) Cook of Minnesota; Aunt: Lucy (Robert) Gideon of Mechanicsburg, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Thomas Humphrey, nephews Teddy Humphrey, Darrell Humphrey Jr. and David Truax brothers-in-law: Wayne Truax, Ronnie Libbens, and Dick Courtney, 2 aunts, 8 uncles and grandparents Walter and Mary Cook. 
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Graveside Service will be held following the visitation starting at 11:45 a.m. at Edinburg Cemetery in Edinburg with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Inurnment will be in Edinburg Cemetery in Edinburg, IL.
