Virginia Sassatelli, 91 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 8:38 p.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born on June 10, 1929 in Kincaid, IL the daughter of Lester and Elizabeth (Loveless) Blake. She married Reno A. Sassatelli on June 25, 1949 in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2006. She worked as a homemaker and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, Taylorville Catholic Daughters of America and Christian County Home Extension. She loved to sew, knit and she loved to cook. She especially loved her grandchildren. 
She is survived by her son: John (Denise) Sassatelli of Taylorville, IL; daughter: Susan (Roger) Ingram of Pawnee, IL; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers: David, Joseph and Dennis Blake; Sisters: Lillian Greene, Louise Mitchell, Betty Frisch, Helen Blake and Patricia Halleck; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Reno Alan Sassatelli, brothers: Darrell Blake, Eugene Blake, Lester Blake, James Blake, Edward Lee Blake and sister: Shirley Burdzilauskas.    
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. The family requests that the CDC health guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing be followed.
