Henry "Jake" Wolf

Henry P. “Jake” Wolf, 81 of Taylorville, passed away at 11:04am on Friday, January 8, 2021 in his home.  He was born on February 16, 1939 in Pana, the son of Henry and Bonnie (Atkins) Wolf.  He graduated from Pana High School where he was an accomplished athlete.  He was proud to be part of the 1955 undefeated football team that Pana has ever had.  Jake served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW post 4495. He retired from the Christian County Highway Department.  He was a talented gardener, loved cooking, and could always find the biggest mushrooms in his secret hunting spots.  Jake loved his faithful canine companions, Max and Annie.  
He is survived by his sons: Henry Eric Wolf (Alissa) of Taylorville and James David Wolf (Rachelle) of Raymond; grandchildren: Brianna Wolf, Sydney Wolf, Kenneth James Wolf, Kyley Wolf, John Wolf, and Bryce Wolf; life-partner: Patricia Ann Hartsfield Martin; and sister: Marian Klein.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Robert Wolf and James “Jimmy” Wolf.
Mr. Wolf will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be at a later date.
