Carl E. Brown, 83 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 5:32 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on August 10, 1937 in Washburn, IL the son of Chester Roy and Blanche (Porter) Brown. He married Janet Fight on October 12, 1984 and she survives. 
Also surviving are his daughters: Carla (Randy) Myers of Springfield, IL; Jodie (David) Simpson of South Pekin, IL Four Grandchildren, seven Great-Grandchildren and sister: Gladys Call of Spring Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Elmer, William “Red” and Chester “Fat”. 
Carl served in the United States Army and retired from the Illinois State Police. He loved baseball, animals, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was an active member of the NFOP Lode #41.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
