Phyllis Watson

Phyllis Anne Watson, 69 of Kincaid, passed away at 11:50pm on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.  She was born on October 3, 1951 in Waukegan, the daughter of Richard and Phyllis (Young) Selzer.  She married Michael Watson on October 12, 1973 and they later divorced.  Phyllis previously worked as a bookkeeper for Federated Funeral Directors and R.P. Lumber.  She was a member of Midland United Methodist Church.  Phyllis was a talented quilter and a member of the Christian County Quilters Guild.  She used her quilting talents to help children in need through Project Linus.  In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed playing BINGO.  
She is survived by her mother: Phyllis Selzer of Kincaid; children: Michael Watson of Taylorville, Brent Watson of Westfield, Indiana, Andrew Watson (Desiree) of Assumption, Timothy Watson (Laci) of Taylorville, and Thomas Watson (Lissa) of Kincaid; grandchildren: Brady Watson, Kennady Watson, Adalyn Watson, Ava Watson, Roman Watson, Ellen Watson, and Alba Watson; great grandchildren: Jah’Rai Watson and Amarri Watson; brothers: Raymond Selzer (Clair) of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Louis Selzer (Sue) of Kincaid; sister: Sandra Simmons (Thomas Jonek) of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, previous husband: Michael Watson; Daughter: Ame Lil Watson; brother: James Selzer; and sister-in-law: Anna Selzer.
In accordance with her wishes, Phyllis will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.  Memorials in her memory may be left to the Christian County Quilters Guild or Project Linus.
