Emma Caroline Baranzelli

Emma Caroline Baranzelli, 87 of Stonington passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 12:46 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She was born on July 19, 1933 in Stonington, IL the daughter of Phillip and Grace (Fedon) Baranzelli. Emma first worked at Marucco’s Grocery Store in Stonington and then for 25 years she worked as a secretary for Nolen Plumbing where she became family instead of just an employee. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity Alter and Rosary Society in Stonington. In her spare time, she used the enjoyed bowling, traveling, arts and reading. She loved the Stonington Basketball team and all sports especially the U of I Basketball team. She was known for making the signs for the Stonington Summer Feast.

She is survived by her Nieces: Karen Spurgeon of Kincaid, Christine (Joseph) Broccardo of Palmer, IL; Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews: Aimee Forbes, Ann Lupton, Jennifer Lupo, John Baranzelli and Angela Yoder; Nine Great-Great Nieces and Nephews; Honorary Grandchildren: Daniel (Brooke) Nolen of Moweaqua and Kaitlyn (Alex) Norris of Palmer, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and her brother.

Private Family Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at approximately 11:15 in the Old Stonington Cemetery in rural Stonington, IL with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. The family wishes that everyone that would like to attend the graveside please wear a mask due to health risks in the family.
