Lorraine Luczak

Lorraine Luczak, 84, of Taylorville, formerly of Morrisonville, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Taylorville Care Center.

 

Lorraine was born August 23, 1936 in Chicago, the daughter of Adam J. and Dorothy M. (Thompson) Stripeik. She married Richard J. “Dick” Luczak on April 30, 1960 in Stickney (now Burbank).

 

Lorraine graduated from the Little Company of Mary School of Nursing in Evergreen Park in 1958, and worked her entire career as a registered nurse, eventually retiring from St. Vincent’s Memorial Hospital in Taylorville in 1985. Upon her retirement, she co-owned and helped operate, with her husband, Sarge’s Country Pub and Eatery in Morrisonville until 1995. Lorraine was a long-time member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Luczak; and sister, Virginia Burgin.

 

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Richard of Taylorville; daughters, Carmen Luczak of Raymond, Michelle (husband, Richard) Fuchs of O’Fallon; sons, Louie (wife, Shirl) of Florence, OR, Tom (wife, Laurie) of Aiea, HI, and Pete Luczak of Springfield; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (husband, Fred) Sterling of Palos Hills, and Bill (wife, Jean) Stripeik of Mokena; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Due to COVID-19 concerns, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date.

 

The family has entrusted Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville with ceremonies.
