Virginia (Lubic) Mazzotti

Virginia (Lubic) Mazzotti passed away on March 10, 2021 in Ft. Myers, Florida. Ginny (whose stage name was Ginny Scott) was the daughter of Steven and Ann Lubic. She was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania on October 26, 1927 and lived many years in Gross Point, Michigan. Most of her career was spent in Las Vegas where she was the opening act for many famous performers including Danny Thomas, George Goebel, Shelby Greene, Henry Youngman, Bob Hope, and Mickey Rooney. She also spent some years in Chicago until she met and married Rene Mazzotti in 1957. After Rene passed away in 1973, she moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where she resided until her death.

She leaves behind her stepsons: Jack (Jayne) Mazzotti and their children: Anthony(Michelle) and Erica, and grandchildren: Rory and Molly, and Richard (Jerri) Mazzotti and their daughters: Ann and Lisa, and grandchildren: Kiersten, Kendall, and Peyten; and very special friend: Mary Wiseman of Ft. Myers.

Mrs. Mazzotti was cremated, and a memorial service will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, March 27 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Visitation will be from 10 until 11am on Saturday at the funeral home and inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
