Bernard DeClerck, 91 of Stonington passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at 5:36 p.m. at his home in Stonington, IL. He was born on January 20, 1930 in Assumption, IL the son of John and Mary (Adams) DeClerck. He married Ida Matthews on March 10, 1951 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. He worked as a farmer and as the Stonington Township Road Commissioner.

He is survived by his Wife: Ida DeClerck of Stonington, IL; Daughters: Carol DeClerck of Stonington, IL; Julie Swigert of Stonington, IL and Barbara Swigert of Stonington, IL; Son: Rich (Kate) DeClerck of Stonington, IL; Grandchildren: Ginny (Matt) Shapiro, Adam DeClerck, Abby (Sean) Bertelsen, Jaclyn Swigert, Alex Swigert, Keith Swigert all of Stonington, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Levi and Gwynn Shapiro; Ella, Josie and Arlo Bertelsen all of Stonington, IL; Sisters: Mary Margaret Morrison of Colorado, Nora Peters of Taylorville, IL; Francis McKinnon of Taylorville, IL; Brother: Charles DeClerck of Taylorville, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters: Cecelia Sutton, Agnes Meyer; Brothers: Jack DeClerck, Connie DeClerck and Wayne DeClerck, Sisters-in-Law: Jerry DeClerck, Delores DeClerck, Toady DeClerck; Brothers-in-Law: Kenny Morrison, Earl Peters, John Meyer, Byron Peters and Myron Sutton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Sr. Rose McKeown officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
