George Arthur Lumb III, 74 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 6:30 a.m. at his home in Taylorville, IL. He was born on October 28, 1946 in Springfield, IL the son of George A. (Natalie) Lumb II and Rosemary Yusko. He married Joanne Brown on March 23, 1968 in Taylorville, IL. He was the owner and operator of Lumb Trucking and he was a member of the 40 MPH Club.George loved to travel in his semi. He also loved to collect trains, antiques, and to do puzzles. He enjoyed going to Country Kitchen to have coffee with all of his friends. But most of all he loved buying, selling, and restoring old cars and spending time with all of his family. Anyone who knew him could say that you were never around him without laughing.

He is survived by his wife: Joanne Lumb of Taylorville, IL; daughter: Nicole (Dayle) Lawyer of Owaneco, IL; sons: George (Michelle) Lumb of Tovey, IL; Robert (Cathy) Lumb of Kincaid, IL; grandchildren: Justin, Jenna, Jeff, Bobby, Brittany, Austin, Brent, Nate, Joey; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Kathleen (Dave) Dunkel of Crestwood, MO; Gail Lumb of Taylorville, IL; Maryellen (John) Lair of Streator, IL; Sally Yusko of Streator, IL; Julie (Arnold) Niederer of La Porte, IN; Barb (Steve) Whalen of Bloomington, IL; brothers: James (Retha) Lumb of Taylorville, IL; David (Laura) Yusko of Florida; Michael Yusko of Streator, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and Mother-in-Law.

George will be cremated and the family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
