Alter “A.J.” E. Ivy II, 17 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:30 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. He was born on September 30, 2003 in Taylorville, IL the son of Alter E. Ivy and Jennifer (Fisher) Ivy. He worked as a laborer for Eric Allard Construction. A.J. was a happy kid and was always ready to go! He attended Cornerstone Academy and was enrolled to go to Lincoln Challenge Military School in January of 2022. He was a member of Faith Community Worship Center where he attended church. A.J. was a joker and always tried to make you laugh. He enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, and being with family and friends. A.J. was a protector and was highly family orientated. He had a smile that would melt your heart! He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his Parents: Alter E. Ivy and Jennifer (Fisher) Ivy; Sister: Tatiana Fisher of Taylorville, IL; Brother: Marcus Ivy of Taylorville, IL; Girlfriend: Kaitlyn Michaud of Taylorville, IL; Grandparents: Theresa Bush and Donald Fisher Sr.; Cousin: LaEdd Jones; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Altrie Ivy and Emma Jones, Doris Lashbrook and Uncle: Corrandon “Red” Orr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2020 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Faith Community Worship Center in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Community Worship Center in Taylorville with Pastor Jerry Thorpe officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
