Lester Gaylord Fesser, 92 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at his home in rural Taylorville, IL. He was born on October 14, 1928 in Taylorville, IL the son of Lester Francis and Hattie Viretta (Smith) Fesser. He married Shirley L. Blair on April 25, 1952 in Taylorville, IL and she preceded him in death on January 19, 1993. He worked as a laborer at Caterpillar in Decatur and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Lester was a member of the Edinburg Masonic Lodge #647 AF&AM and the Ansar Shrine.

He is survived by his Son: Danny (Carol) Fesser of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Melinda (Ryan) Jones of Virginia Beach, VA; Craig (Ashlee) Fesser of Smithfield, VA; Great-Grandchildren: Zara (8), Ella (4), Riley (15), Jaxon (10). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and Son: Michael G. Fesser.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Randy Burwell officiating. Burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery in Edinburg with military graveside honors.
