Alexia Garrison

Alexia Garrison, 17 of Taylorville, passed away at 12:43a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 13, 2004 in Taylorville, the daughter of Jason B. Garrison and Kellie C. Barry. She was a senior at Taylorville High School. Alexia loved animals, not only her pet rabbit and cat, but also any animal she came in touch with. She loved to cook, and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. More than anything, Alexia loved her family as much as they loved and adored her. She had a love of kids, especially her cousins with whom she loved spending time with. Alexia will always be remembered by her friends and family as a quiet, tender-hearted person who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

 

She is survived by her mother: Kellie C. Barry; father: Jason B Garrison; brothers: Chase Clayton and Connor Hunsley; maternal grandmother: Jeannie Brown; paternal grandparents: Gary and Debbie Garrison; aunt and uncles: Janis and Roger Bricker and Patrick Barry all of Taylorville; great grandparents: Roy and Stella Alvey of Enid, Oklahoma; and several cousins, great aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandfather: Thomas Barry; aunt: Laura Garrison; and great grandparents: Jerome and Aldona Klee, Rod Garrison, and Dena Garrison.

 

The visitation for Alexia will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. All health protocols will be followed including the use of masks and limited number of visitors allowed inside the funeral home at a time. The funeral will be private and burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials in her memory may be left to Christian County Animal Control. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
