Joyce A. Jett

Joyce Ann Jett, 78 of Taylorville, passed away at 11:38a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 surrounded by her family in her daughter’s home.  She was born on November 8, 1942 in Jeisyville, the daughter of John Joseph and Mildred Myrtle (Banfield) Fecho.  She married Clyde R. Jett Sr. on June 27, 1965 in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1994.  

 

She graduated from South Fork High School in 1960 and worked for 21 years at Liberty Mutual Insurance as an auto rater, retiring in 1999.  Joyce loved spending time in the outdoors.  She loved fishing, hunting, gardening, mowing, and sitting around the campfire.  In recent years she enjoyed taking golf cart rides with her family, looking for deer.  She enjoyed all types of crafts, especially flower arranging.  Joyce was a caring person and was devoted to her family, especially her granddaughters.  She was an animal lover and had many special pets throughout the years.  


She is survived by her daughter: Tanya Jett of Taylorville; granddaughters: Kendall Manney (Thomas) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Sierra Beck of Taylorville; siblings: Jim Fecho (Kathy) of Mount Ida, Arkansas, Doris Rhodes of Effingham, and Sharon Moore of Taylorville; several nieces and nephews; and special dog: Missy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Clyde R. Jett Jr.; siblings: Joe Fecho, Johnny Fecho, and Denny Fecho; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Helen and Guy Jett; brother-in-law: Rocky Moore; and special dog: Bella.


The funeral service for Joyce will take place at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Ricky Reed officiating.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Sunday.  Following the services, Joyce will be cremated, and inurnment will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.
