Patricia Sue Huddleston, 81 of Palmer passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at 8:45 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on October 22, 1940 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Guy Ballard and Virginia Dowdy. She married Cecil Leo Huddleston on January 28, 1967 in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. Patty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morrisonville. She was a homemaker for many years while she raised her children. Her home was always welcoming to anyone. She made everyone feel like family. Patty enjoyed cooking and took pride in her sparkling laundry. She loved her little home and was so thankful for God’s blessings. Her children always came first in her life and she admired her grandchildren. She was selfless, always willing to help others in need. She loved watching Christian speakers and listening to Christian music especially the Happy Goodmans and the Gaithers. She longed for her homecoming day with her daughter and husband. She put her faith in Jesus Christ and now she is finally Home!
She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Huddleston of Taylorville, IL; Jennifer (Chad) Foster of Palmer, IL; sons: Bradford Huddleston of Rockford, IL, Steven (Cindy) Huddleston of Taylorville, IL; Chris (Loni) Huddleston of Taylorville, IL; Jason Huddleston of Springfield, IL; Robert (Tonya) Huddleston of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren: Blake (Alex) Huddleston, Colby (Dani) Huddleston, Tristan Huddleston, Seth, Gabrielle and Sophie Foster; sisters: Marlene Dunn of Blue Mound, IL; Marcia “Lou” Smith of Palmer, IL; Marie Crowder of Florida; brother: David (Marcella) Ballard of Tovey, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daughter: Laura “Missy” Huddleston, Sister: Barbara Stafford and Grandson: Cody Huddleston.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Chad Foster officiating. Burial will be held in Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL.
