Philip C. "Skee" Lynch Jr.

Philip C. “Skee” Lynch Jr., 76, of Taylorville, passed away at 5:20pm on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  He was born on March 4, 1945 in Chicago, the son of Dr. Philip C. and Dorothy Jeunne (Bostian) Lynch.  Philip graduated from St. Bede Academy in Peru and went on to attend Loyola University before receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami.  He then went on to earn his Law Degree from Glendale University in California.  Philip worked as an underwriter for Chicago Title, then Spurling Title in Taylorville and was a licensed real estate broker.  He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy.  He married Connie S. Becker on September 19, 1980.  Mr. Lynch was an active member of the Christian County YMCA.  He enjoyed traveling to many different destinations around the world, and in recent years especially enjoyed yearly family trips to Panama City Beach.  Throughout the years he enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, and SCUBA diving and was an avid collector of coins and cards.  He enjoyed playing cards with his friends at their monthly poker club.  

 

He is survived by his wife: Connie Lynch of Taylorville; children: Sessey Lynch (Jed Davis) of Palmer, Nathan Lynch of St. Louis, Stacia Fleigle (Brett) of Morrisonville, and Kitt-Lynne Lynch of Oxford, Mississippi; grandchildren: Levi Davis, Lance Davis, Lacey Davis, Gracelyn Fleigle, and Stella Fleigle; 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.  

 

The funeral service for Philip will take place at 12:00pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at McClure Funeral Home with Fr. Ronald Margherio officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Burial, with military graveside rites, will take place at Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is handling the arrangements for the family.
