Helen Petty, 97, of Nokomis, IL passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 8:06 a.m. at Montgomery County Health Care Center in Taylor Springs, IL. She was born on November 1, 1924 in Montgomery County, IL, the daughter of Fred and Ruby (Poteet) Bolte. She married Donald Hilton Petty on November 15, 1943 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2014. Helen worked in the family business her entire life and she was a proud member of the Nokomis United Methodist Church.

 

She is survived by her Sons: Joe (Kathy) Petty of Hillsboro, IL; Dennis Petty and Companion Jan of Witt, IL; Jerry (Sue) Petty of Palm Bay, FL; John (Mary) Petty of Nokomis; Rodney (Susan) Petty of Taylorville, IL; Randy (Penny) Petty of Nokomis and Chris Petty of Nokomis, Grandchildren: Shelly Karcher, Brandon Petty, Robin Petty, Jill (Tom) Flynn, Michelle (Mike) Miles, Amanda Keele, Sarah (Nick) Petty, Jessica (Derek) Durbin, Dalton Petty, Kyra Petty, Great-Grandchildren: 14, Brother: William Bolte of Nokomis, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daughter: Diann Petty, Son: Reginald Petty, Grandson: Nick Petty, Sisters: Juanita Paden, Wilma Darnell and Brother: Don Bolte.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL with Rev. Terry Walters officiating. Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.
