Jack Lee Armstrong

Jack Lee Armstrong, 83 of Taylorville, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in his home.  He was born on July 2, 1938 in Taylorville, the son of Joseph Roy Armstrong Sr. and Catherine Helvetia (Bryles) Armstrong.  Jack worked for several years as a custodian at the Christian County Extension Center.  He had a very strong faith and was active with several churches throughout the years.  Jack enjoyed reading the bible and studying his faith, and he never passed up the opportunity to share his faith with family and friends.  
He is survived by his children: Cheryl Clevenger (Edward) of Morrisonville and Shawn Armstrong (Barbie) of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren: Bruce Clevenger, Misty Clevenger, Dakota Clevenger, Christian Armstrong, Ian Armstrong, Olivia Armstrong, and Haiden Armstrong; great grandchildren: Whisper Mizeur, Cameron Clevenger, Karley Clevenger, Peyton Behnke, and Quin Clevenger; and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Betty Brown; brother: Joseph Armstrong Jr.; 1 niece and nephews.


Mr. Armstrong will be cremated and his remains inurned at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  No services are planned at this time.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Jack, or condolences to his family, may be shared online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com.
