Bryce Boaden

Bryce Boaden, 36, of Pontoon Beach, formerly of Taylorville, passed away unexpectedly at 1:11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
 
Bryce was born February 24, 1986 in Springfield, the son of Deborah Fleming and Rob Boaden.  He graduated from Taylorville High School with the Class of 2004, and went on to receive his Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Lincoln Land Community College.  Bryce worked for Christian County Mental Health for many years, before recently gaining employment with Services By Design, where he worked in a supervisory role caring for cognitively disabled adults.  He loved his job, and the people he was able to help every day.

Bryce was a great father, and he loved spending time with his daughter.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.  Bryce was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Robert and Maureen Fleming, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Daris and Blanche Boaden; step-father, Donald L. Stivers; uncles, Robert Fleming, Jr. and Mike Sanders; and aunt, Pam Grant.

 

Bryce is survived by his daughter, Makilynn Hague-Boaden of Taylorville; brother, Brandon (wife, Patrice) Boaden of Newberg, OR; nieces and nephews, Brandon Boaden, Jr., Isabella Boaden, and Parker Boaden; aunts, Kathy (husband, Dean) Ray of Taylorville, Suzzy Cocagne of Taylorville, Marty Sanders of Taylorville, Helga Fleming of Taylorville, Jim (wife, Marilyn) Boaden of Missouri, and Penny (husband, Jack) Brown of Taylorville; significant other, Monica Johnson of Pontoon Beach; and several cousins.

 

Visitation & Memorial Ceremony: The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin Street, Taylorville, IL 62568, with Sr. Rose McKeown officiating.

 

Inurnment will follow the ceremony at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for Bryce’s daughter, Makilynn, c/o US Bank, 108 W. Market Street, Taylorville, IL 62568.
