Shirley Lavonne Clark, 84, of Taylorville, passed away at 1:00a.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  She was born on August 8, 1937 in Taylorville, the daughter of Dessie and Effie (Stephens) Clark.  She previously worked at Walmart and prior to her retirement worked as a receptionist at Sloan’s West in Taylorville.  Shirley loved to travel, and a trip to Ireland was always a favorite memory of hers.  She enjoyed going out to eat with friends and the occasional gambling trip and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  More than anything, she adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son: Robert Clark of Taylorville; grandchildren: Zachary Clark, Cass Beard, and Lennon Clark; siblings: Kenny Mahan (Frieda) of Taylorville, Dick Mahan (Ellen) of Taylorville, and Ron Mahan (Gerry) of Edinburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Jarrod Clark; siblings: Bob Mahan, Helen Mahan, and Dale Mahan; and previous husband: John W. Clark.
