Steven Daniel Ackerman, 59 of Taylorville, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in his home.  He was born on March 4, 1963 in Springfield, the son of David and Gayla (Harter) Ackerman.  Steven had worked for many years as a welder for ATY Building Systems in Taylorville and previously at Dekalb.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his son: Joshua Ackerman and granddaughter: Olena Ackerman both of El Reno, Oklahoma; brothers: Leroy Ackerman (Linda) of Taylorville and Bill Ackerman of Collinsville, Oklahoma; sister: Sharon Castell (Judy) of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Ed Ackerman. 

Mr. Ackerman will be cremated, and his family will host a celebration of his life at a later date.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
