Danny Fesser

Danny Fesser, 67, of Taylorville, IL, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. He was born on April 11, 1955, in Springfield, IL, the son of Lester Gaylord and Shirley LaVerne (Blair) Fesser. He married Carol Wise in Las Vegas, NV in 2005.Throughout their 17 years of marriage, they accomplished one of their goals to visit and kiss in all 50 states.  He dedicated 26 years of his life to his country through service in the United States Navy, where he retired as an Aviation Electronics Technician Senior Chief Petty Officer.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Fesser; children: Melinda Sue (Ryan) Jones of Virginia Beach, VA, and Craig Allen (Ashlee) Fesser of Smithfield, VA; stepson: Nicholas James Coltrain of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Riley and Jaxon Fesser, Grace Hawkins and Zara and Ella Jones; cousins: Vickie (Lefever) Joe Yonker, Cathy Yeaman (Mary Lou), Michael (Marsha) Blair, Lonnie (Debbie) Yeaman, and Carol Ann Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Michael Fesser; stepdaughter, Kelly Coltrain, and step-granddaughter Charlette Anderson.

He was a member of the Blueville Masonic Lodge No. 647, NRA, and Midland United Methodist Church. Growing up, he enjoyed Judo, where he was a first-degree black belt and a member of the US Judo Association and was selected to participate in the 1977 International Military Olympics.

Danny was a man known for his strength in spirit and flesh. He taught his family the value of being steady, strong, and supportive. He built his extraordinary life through simple actions, every day.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Midland United Methodist Church in Kincaid, IL. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m., at the Midland United Methodist Church in Kincaid with Pastor Randy Burwell officiating.

Memorials may be made to Edinburg Community Unit School District 4 or Midland United Methodist Church, improvement for handicap accessibility.

 Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
