Patsy V. Williams, 92, of Mt. Auburn, IL, passed away surrounded by her three daughters on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. Patsy was born on January 10, 1930, in Patoka, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Nellie (O’Neal) Thorpe. She married Nevins Williams on December 23, 1950, in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1970.

She is survived by her children, Diane Williams of Taylorville, IL, Jo Marinacci of Mohnton, PA, and Dee Dee (Chuck) Carey of Mt. Auburn, IL; grandchildren, Deanna (Danny) Spallinger, Katie Marinacci and Tom Marinacci; great-grandchildren, Paige Spallinger and Alana Rafferty.

Patsy enjoyed playing horseshoes, washers, shuffleboard, and was a master of card playing. She was most known for her pies, noodles, fried chicken, jellies, homemade cakes, sewing needs, babysitting, cartwheels, and making Halloween costumes for kids in Mt. Auburn, IL. Patsy was loved by everyone and would never say no.

Patsy was a longtime member of the Illiopolis Bowling League.  

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harry, Fred, John, Bob, Chancey and Edwin.

Memorials in Patsy’s name may be made to the Mt. Auburn Community Center in Mt. Auburn, IL.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Auburn cemetery, with Kenneth Copenbarger officiating.
