Edith Louise Baran, 89, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on November 3, 2022, at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. Edith was born on October 8, 1933, in Boulder, Colorado, the daughter of Alphonse and Louise (LeFevre) Duquenne Sr. She married Ben Baran Sr. on February 23, 1963, in Taylorville, IL. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2018.
Edith is survived by her children, Tim Baran (fiancée, Jody Post) of Las Vegas, NV,  Ben Baran Jr. (companion, Susan Ferguson) of Springfield, IL and Bruce (Brenda) Pearson of Jackson, MO; grandchildren,  Mason (Valerie) Baran,  Matthew (Cianna) Baran,  Ariel (Scott) Smith,  Bryan (Charissa) Pearson  and Bridget ( Josh) Boley; great-grandchildren, Reid Smith, Calvin Baran, and Andrew Boley;  Brother in Law, James (Sandra) Baran of Springboro, AR; She was also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant great-granddaughters, Abigail and Eleanor Boley.
Edith enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her friends at the Christian County Senior Citizens Center in Taylorville, IL. She also enjoyed playing cards and games at home with family. Edith liked to watch television, mainly if it was golf, tennis or figure skating. She and Alan (Ben Sr.) loved to travel in their Winnebago RV anywhere and everywhere, especially spending the winters in sunny Florida after his retirement. Her and Alan were members of Four Winds Winnies RV club. She was also a devout member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville.
A visitation for Edith will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL.  A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:30 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL, with Rev. Charles Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.
Memorials in Edith’s name may be made to the Animal Protective League of Sangamon County. 
Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
