Carol Roberta Meadows, 75 of Springfield, passed away at 7:41p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  She was born on August 20, 1947 in Taylorville, the daughter of Otis and Bettie (Daniels) Meloon.  She married Earl D. Meadows on December 25, 1966 in Taylorville.  Carol graduated from Taylorville High School and Lincoln Land Community College and held several jobs that involved caring for children.  She was an award-winning jewelry maker and loved taking part in the State Fair Blue-Ribbon culinary competitions.  Carol was an outgoing individual who never met a stranger. 

She is survived by her family: loving husband: Earl Meadows; son: Joseph Meadows; nieces and nephews: Richie (Diane) Meadows, Lorrie (Bobby) Foor, Cassandra (Mike) Padilla, Cherish Bittle, Alex (Melissa) Friedrich and Christian Friedrich; sister-in-law: Grace Meadows; great nephews: Logan, Aiden, Samuel, Josh, and Riley; great nieces: Sydney (Devan), Jordan (Will); great great nieces: Harper, Leah, Nellie Jo; great great nephews: Bentley and Logan; aunt: Louella Durbin; cousins: Darlena (Steve) Krueger, Wendy (Jamie) Marsaglia, Gary (Dawn) Welch, Ronda (Randy) Duncan, and Kathy (Danny) Marron; caregivers: Tiffinie Barnhart and Brendan Barnhart; and her faithful dogs: Darrell and Leonardo.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Doug Meadows and Michael Randall; and brothers: Butch Friedrich and Bob Friedrich. 

Carol will be cremated and the family will host a graveside service at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Hall Cemetery in Blue Mound with Rev. Brennan Hurley officiating.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
