Patricia R. Landers, 71 of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 4:03 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 14, 1951 in Middletown, IL, the daughter of Charlene Marie Poole and Harold Dean Poole. Patricia married Harold Leach in April of 1975 and they later divorced in March of 1996. On December 26, 2001, she married Gerald (Gary) Landers of Taylorville and he preceded her in death in November of 2010.

Patricia retired from the Secretary of State after working there nearly 35 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Middletown and loved working in her garden and canning. Her family meant the world to her.

She is survived by her children: Debbie (Josh) Stephens of Taylorville, IL; Matthew Leach of Richmond Hills, GA; Marcus Leach of Taylorville, IL; and Bobbi (Marvin) Gomez of Denver, CO; Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Leach, Christopher Leach, and Cory Leach of Salt Lake City, UT; Logan Leach of Richmond Hill, GA; Austin Totten, Lucas Stephens, and Alexander Stephens of Taylorville, IL; Paige Gomez of Denver, CO; and Taryn Landers of Eugene, OK; Brother: Joe Poole of Bloomington, IL; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers: Gary Poole; Roy Poole; and Paul Poole; and her son: Terry Landers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral services will be held the following day at Sutton Memorial Home at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Brennan Hurley officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Camp Butler in Springfield, IL.
