Lloyd Conant, 76, of Taylorville, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 6:18 p.m. at his home. He was born May 17, 1946 in Erie, PA, the son of Kenneth Conant and Leola Conant (Thornton). He married Marjorie Ellen (Siegrist) on August 4, 1973 and she preceded him in death.

Lloyd graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and worked for the State of Illinois as a Legislative Printer for many years before his retirement. He was an avid Illini sports and White Sox fan and loved golfing, having a hole-in-one at Timberlake Golf Course in Sullivan, IL. Above all, he loved his family, church, and the Lord and was an active member of the church and choir at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and Laurel United Methodist Church of Springfield.

He is survived by his sons: Richard A. Conant of Springfield, IL; Jeffrey L. Conant of Springfield, IL; Michael A. Conant and fiancée Karen Kilberg of Ypsilanti, MI; and brother, David L. Conant of Witt, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Deborah S. Willhoit.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials in Lloyd’s honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association or First United Methodist Church of Taylorville.
