Barbara Jean Aten, 83 of Pana, passed away at 2:51a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in Pana Community Hospital.  She was born on August 17, 1939, the daughter of Oden B and Sylvia (Cooper) Evans.  She married Robert L. Aten on February 4, 1962 in Hidalgo, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2012.  Barbara worked for many years as the head cook at the Lake Lawn Inn in Pana and was a member of the Pana Christian Church

She is survived by her children: Douglas D. Aten (Vicky) of Honokaa, Hawaii, Robert D. Aten of Pana, and Brenda J. Shouse (Willis) of Cowden; grandchildren: Dayle M. Aten and Samantha D. Shouse; and siblings: Richard D. Evans of Decatur, Richard W. Evans (Delores) of Houston, Texas, and Nancy.
