Mildred A. Nelson nee Fennell, age 88.  Late of East Hazel Crest (Chesterfield neighborhood of Chicago). Devoted wife of 38 years to the late Edward H. Nelson, Sr.

Beloved daughter of the late William and Helen Fennell; Dear mother of Cynthia (late Thomas) Scheib, Sandra (Gerald Sr.) Viall, Janice (Michael) Naddy and Edward H. (Teresa) Nelson, Jr.; Cherished grandmother of Carrie Scheib, Caitlin Scheib, Jerry (Melissa) Viall, Lisa (Adam Yassky) Viall, Joseph Viall, Sean Naddy, Kylie (Ryan) Muha and Noah Nelson.  Great-grandmother of 12 and great-great-grandmother of 1. Preceded in death by her siblings, Merriam (Edward) Weglarz, Helen Miller and Carl Mason. Wilma Arbuckle; Gladys Nelson; Helen Noelle; Dearest friend and cousin of Barbara Raminski; Dearest Aunt to many. Resting at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hwy. Homewood, from 9 am until the time of prayers at 10 am Tuesday, January 31.  Funeral Mass 10:30 am Tuesday at St. John Neumann (formerly Joseph Church), 17951 Dixie Hwy. Homewood, IL.  

Mildred never met a stranger; she was an avid Cubs fan and a big supporter of all her grandchildren and cherished all her friendships. The family would like to thank the caring Staff at the Artis Memory Care in Elmhurst and Gentiva Hospice.  Instead of flowers, memorials to the Mercy Home, Misericordia, or the Parish of St. John Neumann would be appreciated.
