Roger Estes, 63, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on January 28, 2023, at his home. Roger was born on May 21, 1959, in Aurora, IL, the son of Harvey Clifton and Charlotte (McCaslin) Estes. His father passed when he was a baby and he was raised by his mother and Jim Adkins. 

 

Roger loved his family and friends dearly and always had a smile or story to share. He loved cars and spent much of his career in the car business. Roger loved racing and cheering for his favorite sports teams and found his greatest joy in connecting with others. 

 

Roger is survived by his children, Heather (Brian) Thompson and Heath (Candi) Estes; grandchildren, Evan Thompson, Audrey Thompson, Jaxon Estes, Jonah LeDuc, Adam LeDuc, Avery Bruns, Reese Bruns, and Lilly Merritt; dad, Jim Adkins; sisters, Betty Jo Estes, Shirley Anderson and Kandee Kamer and brothers, Jimmy Estes, Byron Adkins and Jamie Adkins. 

 

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Estes and Ralph Estes, and son, Brandon Estes.

 

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. A funeral service will immediately follow at Sutton Memorial Home, with Pastor James Jones officiating. Roger would love everyone to be comfortable and please come in casual or your favorite sports attire. 

 

Memorials may be made to the family C/O Sutton Memorial Home, 327 N. Clay Taylorville, IL 62568. Memorials received will go to the fund for the Brandon Estes Bitty Basketball League at the Christian County YMCA.
