James Carlyle Lindsey

James Carlyle Lindsey, 46 of Taylorville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2023 in rural Taylorville.  He was born on April 26, 1976, the son of James and Kathy (White) Lindsey.  Jim graduated from Taylorville High School in 1994 and was a member of the golf team.  Following high school, he attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.  Jim was the owner of Abe’s Power Washing in Taylorville.  He enjoyed spending time outside fishing, metal detecting, treasure hunting and looking for fossils. Jim also enjoyed painting, reading the bible, and was a member of the Taylorville Evangelical Free Church. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by many. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.  Our hearts will never be the same until we meet again.

He is survived by his children: Preston James Lindsey (Amber) of Sikeston, Missouri, Faith Kathleen Lindsey of Taylorville, Edee Jean Lindsey and Zoey Bee Lindsey both of Hillsboro; parents: Jim and Kathy Lindsey of Taylorville; sister: Molly Friesland (Charles) of Nokomis; nephew: Spencer Lilly of Taylorville; aunts and uncles: Sheryl and Max Klemm, Carla and Don Readhead, Beth and Steve Markwell, Judy Adams, and Jane Kutch; and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Paul James Lindsey, Pauline Lindsey, Carlyle White, and Harriet White; and uncles: Lyle Adams and Warren Kutch.

A funeral Service for Jim will take place at noon on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Taylorville Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Don Beetem officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. until the time of the funeral at noon on Monday.  Burial will take place at the Grove City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Visionway Christian School or Taylorville Food Pantry.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Jim, or condolences to the family, may be shared online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com.
